Project Engineer
2 year contract
Location: Fremont, CA (On Site)
This position pays between $40.00 and $50.00 per hour.
Pay for this contract position is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Duties:
We are seeking an individual who has experience with engineering product development processes/best practices. This candidate will have knowledge of enabling CAD and PLM efficiencies and automation as well as a passion for standards, details and consistent design and documentation methods. Using an internal customer perspective, will coordinate cross-functional teams of impacted stakeholders and can perform non-technical project management to completion, both on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Continuous improvement. This includes all elements of the engineering development and release process from the tools we use to communicate, to the engineering practices themselves
Develop evaluation methods to assess process strengths and identify areas for improvement
Work cross functionally to align with requirements and functionality with stakeholders
Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation
Create, present and maintain effective training
Present project plans to senior management, gain buy in and deliver results
Manage CFTs with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities
Skills:
Expected minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 2 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience
Related experience with Model Based Definition (MBD). From part and assembly modeling, to on-model annotations and (TDP) Technical Data Packages, to part fabrication and inspection
Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools
Strong understanding and hands on experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) principles, processes, and methodologies.
Skills in Excel is a must but demonstrable capability with VBA, SQL, JMP, Qlik, Access, QuickBase, SAP, Matlab, or other programming languages is a plus
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Strong leadership skills with applicable experience
Strong Influencing, negotiating and conflict resolution skills
Process knowledge in PLM and ERP required
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Other experience that would prove highly valuable: Mechanical Engineering, Creating on-model annotations of sheet metal and machined metal, weldments, and large assemblies in support of Model Based Definition, Modeling in NX 10 or newer, including 5 years modeling experience, Product Configuration Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Intel Copy Exactly!, Field Service, Logistics/Spares.
Education:
Expected minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 2 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience
